Drove Drunk(stupid) 3 separate charges, Highschool senior?

Ok no answers calling me stupid I'm in enough distress please nothing mean l know l did something very dumb,

my question is what am l looking at punishment wise and will it effect me swimming at the college level all next year starting in the fall in painsville ohio, l live in fairfield ohio(5 hr distance)

On my friends 18th birthday last weekend l drove home drove and hit a parked car, my insuranace is covering it , but l've heard its a manadatory 3 days in jail for driving drunk, l've heard people just staying over night and not getting that on there 1st drunk driving offense, but if l would is there anyway they would wait until l graduate to in act those days, also the 3 charges l got all together are

Failure to maintian control of a vehicle, Underage Consumption, and OVI (operating vehicle under the influence)

l'm ready to except the punish and have began working to save up for the fees that'll recieve but l'm asking for an estimate of what l'll get and if it will directly effect me swimming in college and about the jail time, l'm scared l know l never should've even thought about it and l'm lucky to be here, please help??????|||Ohio is tough on 1st offense OVI charges. The 3 days in jail is standard.

Fines and fees could be in the thousands. The other two charges aren't a huge deal, but they will cost you some extra $ and probation.

But the fact that you are under the legal drinking age means your license loss will very likely be 3 years.

The school may not care, but it is difficult to say what they will do, it is up to them.

Some schools have strict rules on scholarship money, athletics not as much, but it really depends.|||Are you already accepted to the college? It's not an IVY league college, right? You should be okay. Kiss your license goodbye until you're 21, though.|||i lost a soccer scholarship for getting an minor in consumption and open container... but that was one school, so it is possible it can affect your swimming. you'll probably have to pay some fines, take some alcohol awareness classes, and do community service (no jail time)... but good luck keeping your license|||First offense is one thing but your third... if you're over 18 then you could face some jail time but not more than a few months.

But if you're remorseful the judge may cut you some slack. Some people don't go to the pokie over it but start learning how to use public transportation b/c you may have your license revoked.

A little grammar lesson for the college bound: it's e-n-a-c-t not in act. lol And it's accept, not except, which has a totally different meaning.|||The fines are going to add up fast! Several thousand dollars at least. You will probably lose your license for a long time ... 3 years is a believable estimate!

If there was a scholarship involved ... you might lose it! Some of those programs have very strict rules. The college probably has rules about eligibility for sports ... I do not know if you will still be eligible ... but the admissions office at the college does! Give them a call, they will find out about this situation anyway.

You will see how bad these convictions will affect you over the next 3 to 5 years. It will not be easy or pretty ... but you will survive. I would suggest getting a lawyer, handling these charges yourself is possible ... but definitely not the best way to go.
