2000 Ford Focus 2.0L DOHC Zetec. Idles and Revs fine, dies when throttled in drive moving or with brake held?

Just curious if anyone can add additional ideas as to what could possibly be causing this.

The vehicle does blow faint black smoke when dying, and smells rich. When parked, the car will rev all day long. The problem only occurs when the vehicle is not in park or neutral. It does not always occur as soon as you put it in drive and may make it a short distance first...short as in a couple blocks.

Have changed: Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, PCV Valve, Cam Position Sensor, Crank Position Sensor, Fuel Pump Delivery Module, Idle Air Control, Plugs, Wires, Coil Pack, Tank Pressure Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, EGR Vacuum Line, EGR Valve Position Sensor, DPFE Sensor, and Fuel Pressure Regulator (returnless).

Additional work done: Checked for vacuum leaks and found none. EGR line was changed before check and from sight inspection. Checked for leaks on intake side, all connections look solid.

Anything you guys can think of would be a start. Most of the parts changed were for a reason. Fuel pump was done by a drunk before we took ownership - so we did it again correctly. Fuel Pressure Regulator did bring the car from not running to only idling. Most sensors unfortunately were guess and change a part, or advice from a supposed mechanic. Not really wanting to keep up with the random parts changes, and out of ideas on what to change anyway. Also not willing to take this to a mechanic, since it's not currently registered and not insured - been sitting in the garage. This was supposed to be a project car, but has slowly turned into a nightmare. Car is sitting at about 100k miles. Any suggestions are truly appreciated. Thanks|||Just for fun, have you checked the air filter?
